On Special Request Woodworking began when I started pulling out my old wood-working equipment from the mid 1990's to make a couple Cribbage Boards for friends and family. One day a friend of mine pointed out he had a manual on how to build a CNC machine. I wasn't interested, but he left the manual sit on my work bench. Several months later I finally gave in to temptation and picked up the manual. I started to tinker, spending only a couple hours a week on it, and then 18 months later the project was finally assembled~!

Since then I have taught myself how to use graphics programs to design, how to operate the CNC machine, and how to program in Gcode. It is an iterative process, one I doubt will ever really be 'complete' because that is the nature of someone who is passionate about their craft. Always striving to improve their quality. As the name implies, On Special Request builds and designs with you - making your custom product unique. In addition we offer a myriad of designs for cribbage boards, signs, camp-chairs, coasters and more!
